Department of special education

At present, the Department of Special Education has two majors: special education and primary education, and six majors (visually impaired education, hearing impaired education, mentally retarded education, learning disability education, sign language interpretation and regular education), which mainly train teachers and related professionals for special education schools, ordinary schools, special education classes and regular education, as well as disabled persons' federations, rehabilitation centers and other institutions. Nanjing Vocational and Technical College of Special Education has 927 students and 28 full-time teachers, including associate professor 10, lecturer 15 and 3 teaching assistants. Provincial education teachers 1 person, "333 engineering talents" 1 person, provincial leaders and academic backbones 1 person. The department of special education was formerly known as the three professional groups of blind education, deaf education and mentally retarded education in Nanjing Special Education Normal School. As the first normal school for special education in new China, the Department of Special Education has made a pioneering exploration in the specialty, academic system, curriculum and discipline construction of special education teachers. Special Education Department 1985 set up a four-year secondary school, 1997 set up a five-year college, and in 2003 set up a three-year college (after high school); Since the establishment of 1982, it has undertaken the task of compiling the teaching syllabus and teaching materials of 22 specialized courses in secondary special normal colleges organized by the Ministry of Education, and completed more than one national, ministerial and provincial scientific research project 10, which has filled many gaps in the field of special normal education in China and made outstanding contributions to the development of special education in China. The development of special education department is not only a microcosm of the development of Nanjing Special Education College, but also a process of exploring the road of special education teachers with China characteristics. Over the past 20 years, the Department of Special Education has trained 3,425 special education teachers and more than 6,000 special education cadres, teachers, sign language announcers and other professional and technical personnel for all parts of the country (except Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and Tibet). According to the statistics in 2002, about 40% principals and 80% middle-level cadres of special schools in China 1534 are graduates of this major. A number of national advanced individuals in special education emerged among the graduates of this major. Alumni Cao Yan was cordially received by Hu Jintao and other party and state leaders, and was reported by CCTV and several news media, which caused great repercussions throughout the country. The special education specialty of Nanjing Vocational and Technical College of Special Education is the brand specialty of the college, and it is also the construction point of characteristic specialty in Jiangsu Province. At present, it has become a special education major with the largest professional direction, the largest scale, the largest number of graduates, the longest history, the largest laboratory equipment and the greatest social impact in China. The four majors (directions) of visually impaired education, autism education, learning disability education and regular learning are unique in China; Sign language translation major (direction) is also a new major (direction) in developed countries with special education in the world. Rehabilitation is a new department of the college, which was established in 2002. Its predecessor was a part of the Department of Science, Chemistry and Health of Nanjing Special Normal School. In June 2002, after the school was upgraded, the rehabilitation department of Nanjing Vocational and Technical College of Special Education was established. In September 2003, based on the rehabilitation department, the rehabilitation department was established by integrating resources such as listening laboratory and sensory laboratory. At present, there are community rehabilitation specialty, children's rehabilitation specialty (listening and language direction), autistic children's education rehabilitation specialty, rehabilitation experimental center and so on. Community rehabilitation major mainly trains high-quality applied professionals with fraternity and dedication, solid professional knowledge and skilled professional skills, and provides diagnosis, evaluation and identification of disabled children for special education schools or rehabilitation training institutions for disabled children at all levels and urban community rehabilitation technical guidance centers, carries out health care for special children, and provides early intervention and rehabilitation training guidance for other types of disabled people. Children's rehabilitation (the direction of hearing language) mainly trains professionals to carry out hearing speech rehabilitation training and provide hearing technical services for special education schools, rehabilitation centers for deaf children, kindergartens for deaf children, hearing aid machinery companies and other educational, rehabilitation and equipment institutions. Autistic children's education major mainly trains full-time special education teachers, rehabilitation trainers and other professionals for special education schools, rehabilitation institutions for autistic children and community rehabilitation technical guidance centers.

Department of Preschool Education

The Department of Preschool Education was established in June 2004. At present, there are three major directions of preschool education: preschool education (special education direction) and preschool education (psychological education direction of special children)/community rehabilitation (four-year double major) and preschool education (English direction). The department focuses on cultivating kindergarten teachers and other preschool workers who have the spirit of humanity and fraternity, love preschool special education, master the laws of education and teaching, have good professional quality, solid professional knowledge and skilled professional skills, and can meet the needs of the development of modern preschool special education. At present, there are 8 classes and 373 students in preschool class. Students major in cultural courses and professional basic courses in the first year, and start professional elective courses and professional development in the second year. The main courses of Nanjing Vocational and Technical College of Special Education are: preschool education, child development psychology, preschool child hygiene, psychology and pedagogy of special children, piano, dance, art, handicrafts and so on. After graduation, students can continue their studies in related majors at Yaoxi University in Korea after selection. After two years of study, they can get undergraduate diplomas and degree certificates. Six students from our department went to Korea for further study. The department has 12 teachers, 1 teacher with full senior title, 2 teachers with deputy senior title and 6 teachers with graduate education. Among them, Teacher Yang Feng is a provincial-level academic leader and the only double-qualified teacher with the title of professor and senior arts and crafts artist. .....
