Southwest University offers education, psychology, agronomy, special economic animal breeding (sericulture), food science and engineering, biological science, plant protection, sericulture, mathematics and applied mathematics, horticulture, history, chemistry, agricultural and forestry economic management, language and literature, physics, animal medicine, agricultural resources and environment, ideological and political education, English and other majors.

The main body of Southwest University is located in Beibei District, Chongqing, at the foot of Jinyun Mountain and beside Jialing River, covering an area of more than 8,000 mu, with a school building area of16500 square meters and a green space rate of 40%.
