What are the ways for undergraduate students to study in Hong Kong?
Hong Kong is one of the most popular countries for studying abroad. In recent years, more and more students have applied for undergraduate studies in Hong Kong, and their competitiveness has become stronger and stronger. If you master the enrollment channels of undergraduate universities in Hong Kong, it may be helpful for students to apply. The following is a detailed introduction to the four major enrollment methods of undergraduate universities in Hong Kong. Come and see.

Path 1: college entrance examination scores, admission in advance.

Students can apply to take the college entrance examination by taking the unified college entrance examination. The Chinese University of Hong Kong and the City University of Hong Kong belong to the unified recruitment system. Students can fill in the college entrance examination volunteers in batches in advance. You don't need to apply to the university separately, and you don't need to attend an interview. Hong Kong schools will consider merit-based admission according to students' college entrance examination results.

Undergraduate students can also apply for a number of key universities in the mainland while applying for two. If the candidates are not admitted to two universities, it will not affect the admission of a batch of undergraduates.

Second, Hong Kong schools recruit students independently.

Institutions other than the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the City University of Hong Kong implement independent enrollment. Students apply to the school independently. After the results of the college entrance examination are announced, Hong Kong universities will accept students according to their college entrance examination results and interview results, and the general admission will end before July 7 of each year.

Students can generally register in February, and the deadline for registration generally lasts until the end of May or early June.

Third, the route of international students

With the increasing number of mainland students attending international schools year by year, some Hong Kong universities can accept mainland students as international students. International students generally have to take three kinds of exams to apply:

1. Academic aptitude test (USA)

The SAT is divided into two parts. One part is a general part, including mathematics, reading and writing. It is called SATI. Others are single-subject exams, including mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and foreign languages (including Chinese, Japanese, German, French and Spanish). , collectively referred to as SAT Ⅱ Ⅱ. SATⅰⅰ math and reading writing each have 800 points (the lowest score is

200), so the perfect score is 2400; The SAT score is 800.

It is necessary for all colleges in Hong Kong to check the requirements of SAT I, while the requirements of SAT II depend on the specific requirements of each discipline.

2. Advanced Level Examination

Higher Certificate in General Education (General)

Advanced education certificate

A-level course, referred to as A-Level course for short, is an advanced level course of British general secondary education certificate examination, a national curriculum system in Britain and a college entrance examination course for British students. Most British students need two years to complete this course, but students with strong ability can sometimes complete it in a shorter time. Students can even teach themselves three or four A-Level courses directly in China, and then take the British Council exams in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. But don't miss the deadline for exam registration. This course requires students to study three or four major courses and take graduation exams. Those who pass the exams can enter universities. Students' test scores and the A-Level courses they choose largely determine whether they can enter the ideal university to study the degree courses they choose.

Examination time: The A-Level examination was held in May-June and10-1organized by each examination committee, and the results were announced in August and February respectively.

Examination method: The examination method is very flexible. Students can choose to take the examination in stages or apply for all courses at once. Moreover, there are many exam opportunities in each course, and the final score is calculated by the best one. Choose at least 3-4 courses to take the exam.

Examination place: Students take the examination at the senior affiliated centers in various places where they study. Self-learners can apply directly to the Cultural and Education Office of the British Embassy to take the exam (except the United States and Britain).

Test scores: A-Level scores are divided into six grades: A, B, C, D, E and U, with A being the best, E passing and U failing. If students are not satisfied with the results of a course, they can choose to retake the exam, and the final result will be the best.

3.IB

IB is a world-class general preparatory diploma. Students with IB diplomas will have an advantage in further study anywhere in the world. After completing IB, they can skip language courses and go directly to university.

All IB diploma students must choose one course in each of the six prescribed subject groups, at least three of which are advanced courses. The maximum score of each subject is 7 points, plus 3 points for expanding papers and knowledge papers, out of 45 points.

Fourth, the curve saves the country and applies for an associate degree.

The application conditions for undergraduate study in Hong Kong are relatively high, and not every candidate who has a dream of studying in Hong Kong can meet the undergraduate requirements. For these students, we should consider the curve route of saving the country: associate degree. This year, the University of Hong Kong, the City University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Hong Kong Baptist University have all launched associate degree courses, providing another way for mainland students to further their studies. Associate degree courses generally last for two years. After obtaining an associate degree, you can apply for a local university in Hong Kong or a foreign university with the results of the associate degree, and you can directly apply for a primary course. Generally, freshmen can apply for the college entrance examination as long as they score more than two books, but associate degrees are generally taught in English, which requires higher English for students. Students generally need about 100 in college entrance examination English.
