West China Normal University was founded in 1946. It has used several school names such as North Sichuan College of Agriculture, Industry and Commerce, North Sichuan University, Sichuan Normal University, Nanchong Normal University, Sichuan Normal University and West China Normal University.

The school is a full-time provincial key normal university organized by Sichuan Provincial People's Government. It is located in Nanchong, a famous historical and cultural city. It is the first normal university in Sichuan Province and the first batch of authorized units for bachelor's and master's degrees in China.

2. North Sichuan Medical College

North Sichuan Medical College is located in Nanchong, a famous historical and cultural city in Sichuan Province and the birthplace of the Three Kingdoms culture. It is a provincial medical college with medicine as the main body and coordinated development of medicine, science, literature, management and engineering.

3. Nanchong Vocational and Technical College

Nanchong Vocational and Technical College is a full-time ordinary institution of higher learning approved by the Sichuan Provincial People's Government and filed by the Ministry of Education. Selected as a model higher vocational college in Sichuan Province.

4. Nanchong Technician College

Nanchong Technician College, established with the approval of Sichuan Provincial People's Government, is a vocational college and a national high-level talent training base, which mainly trains senior technicians and reserve technicians, and carries out high-skilled personnel training and vocational skill appraisal.

Based on Mr. Zhang Lan's school-running philosophy of "Tao Zhu talents serve the country" and centering on the talent training goal of "cultivating perfect personality, cultivating sophisticated skills and casting blue-collar elites", the college vigorously promotes the "artisan spirit" and aims at serving social and economic construction and employment.

Nanchong Campus of Southwest Petroleum University is an important part of the talent training pattern of "one school, two districts, two systems and two types" in Southwest Petroleum University. Nanchong Campus and Chengdu Campus of Southwest Petroleum University are both undergraduate, and all graduation documents such as graduation certificate and degree certificate are completely consistent with Chengdu Campus. Policies such as Baoyan and Zhibo are consistent with Chengdu Campus.
