How should college students adapt to college life?

(1) mind your own business

After the baptism of the college entrance examination, freshmen have become lucky in the college entrance examination and entered the long-awaited university hall. They are immersed in the longing for college life and a bright future. However, university is not a paradise or a casino, but a place to refuel before entering a career. College will be different from what you think. The original desire for further study has been realized, and the new goal has not been found yet. It is inevitable that you will fall into a moment of confusion. At the same time, they also feel that the way of life and study in universities and middle schools is completely different, and they need to change their roles as soon as possible to adapt to university life. In college, you should first learn to be a man, and then learn to be a useful person.

University life is a collective life and an independent life. Entering the university, the living environment will change greatly. Students come from all corners of the country, and their living habits, temperament and personal hobbies will be different, so some contradictions are inevitable. The most important thing is to properly handle these contradictions with tolerance and understanding.

In life, we must learn to live independently. We should establish a correct outlook on life. University life is rich and colorful, so it is necessary to study effectively, live in an orderly way, be beneficial to entertainment, be interested in communication and spend moderately.

Learn to arrange your own time in your study. A lot of time in college is reserved for yourself. We should arrange time for preview, homework, exercise, entertainment and rest, and control ourselves.

Therefore, for freshmen, we should take six steps:

1, adjust your mind and start from the beginning. Maybe you are the best in high school, an example to your classmates and the pride of your parents. Your classmates are equally excellent. In the past, high school was the best. In this new group, it is not clear who is taller and who is lower. When you get to college, you lose the feeling of holding the moon in the past and feel empty. Don't be depressed at this time. High school is only the foundation, and the university will gradually train you into a professional in a certain field. Everyone who has just entered the university has equal opportunities and stands on the same starting line. As for the final result, it depends on their own efforts.

2. Do your own financial management. You should learn to be your own master when you go to college; With parents' hard-earned money, we should consider both material products and spiritual food when calculating monthly food, clothing, housing and transportation. Otherwise, there will be a fiscal deficit, but it is far from hunger.

3. "Home" suddenly has five brothers (sisters) with local accents, who will live under the same roof for four years. Meeting is fate. Everyone has advantages and we can share them. Everyone has shortcomings, so we should tolerate each other.

There are many kinds of clubs in universities. Every time a new student starts school, new notices are posted everywhere on campus, and leaflets are flying all over the sky. Be sure to hold your horses and bear it first. Find the club you are interested in, first look at its nature and previous activities, then talk to the brothers and sisters, see how the reputation of the club is, and finally see if its membership fee is reasonable. If you are satisfied with the above aspects, then sign up!

5. Learning in the university is almost a change of teachers, one classroom after another, noisy class, class dismissed. Self-study is the main feature of university study. Not only should you digest and absorb what you have learned in class, but even your whole knowledge system needs to be supplemented and improved by yourself. Therefore, in addition to professional study, we should also properly dabble in extracurricular knowledge and enrich ourselves.

6. What should I do if I am not satisfied with my present major? It doesn't matter, you still have a chance to choose again in college. If you are still not interested in your major after studying for one year, you can apply to change your major. As long as you pass the prescribed exam, you can get what you want. If you still don't want to go to this major, you can also choose to minor or double major. You only need to complete the assigned credits, and you can still get the certificate.

(B) changes in the role of life

Freshmen should make five changes to adapt to the living environment of the university:

1, changes in social roles

College students and middle school students have different roles in school. In middle school, many of them hold certain positions and are respected learning leaders in schools or classes. However, in a university campus with abundant talents, most people may become ordinary students who do not hold any positions. Freshmen must adapt to this change from famous to unknown, from high flyers to ordinary students. In addition, the social roles of college students and middle school students are different, the psychology and thoughts of middle school students are developing, and their career direction and social roles are not sure enough; The career direction of college students is basically determined, and their social status has been greatly improved. The society's expectations and requirements for college students are much higher than those of middle school students. Therefore, in order to realize the social role transformation from middle school students to college students, freshmen should be strict with themselves according to the standards of college students everywhere, and learn to be a man and do things at the same time.

2, the change of goal

University is a new starting point for success in life and career. The ancients said, "Where there is a will, there is a way" and "Learning must be determined first". College students should wake up from the satisfaction and intoxication of the success of the college entrance examination, formulate their own goals and action strategies in terms of academic, ideological and moral, psychological development and other quality training according to the objective reality of school teaching, enhance the internal motivation of enterprising, and lay a good foundation for re-creating brilliant life in the university stage.

3. Changes in the way of thinking

Compared with middle schools, universities have a fast pace of life, a large space for activities and more people to make friends with. Faced with these changes in environmental conditions, freshmen should change their way of thinking from "non-adults" to "adults". When thinking about dealing with the problems encountered, we should strive to be dialectical and comprehensive, not idealistic and one-sided, far-sighted, pragmatic and short-sighted, deliberate on the choice of major issues in life, not blindly impulsive or emotional, strengthen moral and legal concepts, and consider the consequences when doing things.

4, lifestyle changes

In middle school, some trivial matters of life depend on the help of parents and relatives. After entering the university, personal life such as food, clothing, housing and transportation is arranged by myself. Autonomy, self-reliance and self-discipline are the main themes of university life. College students should adapt to these lifestyle changes, deal with personal study and life problems independently and reasonably, pay attention to cultivating the ability of independent living, consciously abide by school rules and regulations and work and rest time, and develop good living habits; We should actively participate in cultural and sports activities and second class activities organized by schools and classes.

5. Changes in communication methods.

College students and middle school students come from different sources. Most middle school students study in their hometown, and their classmates are full of local accent and homesickness; However, college students come from all over the country, and their language, personality and living habits are quite different, which requires the change of communication methods. Freshmen should pay attention to the change from "self-centered" to "collective-centered", pay more attention to others in the class and be polite to each other in the dormitory. First of all, we should understand each other, adapt to each other and advocate active communication; Secondly, students should respect and care for each other, be sincere and enthusiastic, combine leniency with severity, stress principles on major issues and style on minor issues; Third, in dealing with classmates, we should insist on being kind to others, engage in "all corners of the country" and all-round exchanges, instead of having the concept of fellow villagers, engaging in vulgar styles such as sects and gangs, and paying attention to the harmony of interpersonal relationships. Pay attention to make a good impression in communication. For example, dress neatly and generously, talk politely, treat people sincerely, be neither supercilious nor supercilious, keep promises and be punctual. We should also eliminate shyness in communication and cultivate the skills of "speaking" and "listening" in conversation. Pay attention to improving the level of personal accomplishment and develop good behavior habits. Cultivate all-round communication skills and the art of doing things.

For freshmen, we should pay attention to four wants and four don't.

One is learning. It is an eternal truth that students focus on learning. Since you study, you have to make some efforts. Generally speaking, science and engineering students work harder than literature and history students.

Second, play. College students should play as a supplement and play with a purpose to play "value". You can join an interested "student club". The "student associations" with a long history include: English clubs, film salons, literature clubs, etc. Now there are people, tennis teams and model teams. As for which club to join, it is best to have "experts" such as brothers and sisters to give directions.

Third, we must observe. The observation mentioned here is not only a keen and unique observation of scientific phenomena, but also an observation of all people and things around. Especially in the process of interacting with people, if you are good at observing, you can not only make real friends, but also learn a lot of valuable experience. Fourth, we should think hard. After observation, we must learn to think. When I first entered the university, everything seemed so fresh. Take "student associations" as an example. Not all of them are good. You must think more when you choose, and you can't make a hasty decision on impulse. First, don't be conceited. When I first entered the university, I was naturally in a good mood, but I should not be "frivolous" because of it. Universities are gathering places for intellectual elites from all walks of life, and your teachers may be academic celebrities; Your seniors may have made small achievements; Relatively speaking, you are nothing at present.

Second, don't be sharp. Maybe some students can't understand this article. Didn't they say to "embody personal values"? What if you want to "embody" but can't "reveal"? Freshmen, after all, most of them are inexperienced, young and prone to extremes. It's best to watch and listen more first, and think twice before you do anything, so as to gradually mature.

Third, don't intrigue. The so-called "home and everything", many college students stay in school, and the school is "home", so we should unite our classmates and roommates.

Fourth, don't be trapped by love. The attitude of universities towards "love" is basically "not advocating" and "not trying to prohibit", because it is a personal matter after all. If one day you find yourself trapped by love, you'd better get rid of it as soon as possible. After all, there are more important things waiting for you in the four years of college.

(3) What do you study in university?

The foundation of university education is the inculcation of basic knowledge and the cultivation of humanistic spirit, and the study in university is completely different from that in middle school. Stepping into the university campus, we are faced with a brand-new learning and living environment. The learning task is very arduous, not only to learn professional knowledge, but also to learn knowledge outside the major; To learn scientific research methods, but also to learn experiments and technical operations; Learn to be a man and learn to do things. First of all, the knowledge learned in the university is composed of basic courses, specialized basic courses and specialized courses, which come step by step and step by step. Failure to learn any of the previous links will affect the progress of the following courses. In addition, students have to pass the CET-4 and CET-6 and the computer proficiency test at school, so the learning task is not easy. Secondly, there are significant differences between higher education and primary and secondary education. Mainly manifested in: different learning tasks, different learning contents, different learning methods and means.

Learning tasks are different. Mainly because the learning task of primary and secondary schools is to learn all kinds of basic knowledge of science and culture. Prepare for further study or employment. Universities aim at training all kinds of senior professionals, not only to learn professional knowledge, but also to master specialized skills, which is closely integrated with the needs of the whole society and has strong practicality and pertinence.

The learning content is different. University study is a highly professional learning process, but these courses are closely centered around one center, which is to serve the cultivation of specialized talents. In addition, the university also offers a large number of elective courses, lectures, experiments, internships and social surveys, which reflect the new knowledge and new contents of the development of modern science and technology. There are many kinds of lectures in universities. We should actively participate in school cultural activities and communicate with scholars and classmates.

Learning styles and methods are different. University study fully embodies students' initiative, enthusiasm and consciousness, and constantly explores and summarizes effective learning methods suitable for them. When studying in university, we must change the learning style of exam-oriented education in the past and actively participate in extracurricular practice and various interest groups, which is very important for future development.

4) Don't worry about poverty.

Over the years, the CPC Central Committee, the State Council, people's governments at all levels, education administrative departments and universities have been very concerned about and attached great importance to the financial assistance for students from poor families in colleges and universities. The Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance, together with relevant departments, have successively studied and formulated a series of policies and measures for subsidizing students from poor families in colleges and universities, and gradually established a diversified policy system for subsidizing students from poor families in colleges and universities with scholarships, student-origin loans, work-study funds, subsidies for students with special difficulties, tuition fee reduction (hereinafter referred to as "awards, loans, assistance, supplements and reductions") and national student loans as the main bodies. These subsidy policies and measures have played a positive role in ensuring that every student admitted to full-time colleges and universities does not drop out of school because of financial difficulties, and that students with financial difficulties can study with peace of mind, live a normal life and grow up healthily. In order to further strengthen the work of subsidizing students from poor families, under the concern of the leaders of the State Council, the national student loan system was established from 1999, so that students from poor families can not only obtain financial aid through the above-mentioned policy of "award, loan, assistance, supplement and reduction", but also apply for a national student loan from China Industrial and Commercial Bank, and 50% of the loan interest is subsidized by finance.

Because scholarship is a kind of encouragement in the form of funds, it also belongs to a kind of student aid.

(5) Approved by the school.

The whole application process is divided into six parts. The following is a detailed introduction of a student who meets the application conditions: Step 1: Student application.

Students should apply to their school institutions within the specified time, receive the National Student Loan Application Approval Form and other materials, fill them out truthfully and completely, and prepare relevant supporting materials to return to the school national student loan agency (hereinafter referred to as "school institutions"). The materials to be submitted include: (1) approval form for national student loan application; (2) A copy of my student ID card and resident ID card (minors must provide valid identity certificates of legal guardians and written opinions on agreeing to apply for loans); (3) my explanation of the family's financial difficulties; (4) the identification of family financial difficulties by the civil affairs departments of townships, towns and streets and the education administrative departments at the county level; (5) Other supporting documents and materials required by the bank or school.

Step 2: The school institution conducts the loan preliminary examination.

School institutions organize students to apply for loans and accept student loan applications within the annual loan amount and control ratio issued by the National Student Loan Management Center. School institutions shall examine the qualifications of the national student loan application materials submitted by students, and be responsible for their completeness, authenticity and legality. The preliminary examination will be completed within 20 working days after receiving the application for student loan. After the completion of this work, the school organized a five-day publicity and corrected the problematic application. After the initial examination is correct, the school institution will confirm the loan application form stamped with the official seal within 10 working days, inform the students of the audit results, and make the Information Form for Student Audit of National Student Loan (hereinafter referred to as the Information Form) and send the application materials to the handling institution of China Bank (hereinafter referred to as the handling bank).

Step 3: The handling bank approves the loan.

The handling bank shall complete the audit within 20 working days after receiving the information form and application materials submitted by the school. If there are any mistakes or omissions, the school will be required to correct or supplement them. The handling bank shall complete the review within 15 working days after receiving the true and complete application materials submitted by the school. Within 5 working days after the completion of all audits, the handling bank will uniformly compile a roster of eligible loan students and send it to the school together with a blank loan contract and an iou.

Step 4: Sign a loan contract with the students.

After the loan application is approved, the school will organize students to fill in, sign loan contracts and IOUs within 10 working days according to the loan student roster provided by the handling bank, and submit them to the handling bank.

The handling bank shall complete the signing work within 15 working days after receiving the loan contract and iou submitted by the school, and deliver the signed loan contract to the school institution within 5 working days. After receiving the loan contract and IOU, the school institution will return it to the borrower for safekeeping within 5 days.

Step 5: Borrow.

The handling bank shall, within 20 working days after signing the loan contract and loan receipt with the loan students, uniformly transfer the first-year tuition, accommodation and living expenses into the designated account opened by the school in the handling bank; Tuition, accommodation and living expenses loans for the second and subsequent academic years should be transferred to the designated account of the school within 20 working days after the start of each academic year. The handling bank handles a debit card or current passbook for each loan student, and submits the loan student list and debit card number details to the school so that the school can transfer the living expenses to the account on a monthly basis.

Step 6: Repay the loan.

Loan students should pay attention to their own credit and repay on time after completing their studies with student loans. 60 days before graduation every year, the school will organize loan students to go to the handling bank to go through the repayment confirmation procedures, and the handling bank will send people to provide on-site service to explain the repayment related matters to the loan students and answer their inquiries.

Loan students studying abroad after graduation should take the initiative to inform the original handling bank to pay off the loan in one lump sum.

The handling bank will establish a loan student repayment monitoring system, and announce the names, ID numbers, graduation schools, default behaviors and other information of loan students who have been in arrears for more than one year and have not actively contacted the handling bank.

For provincial universities, the relevant departments of local governments and provincial banks have introduced and implemented the measures of student loans for poor students.

4. Work-study program. Colleges and universities organize students to participate in teaching assistants, scientific research assistants, management assistants, laboratory and school-run industrial production activities, logistics services and various public welfare labor, and pay corresponding remuneration from the work-study fund, so that students with financial difficulties can have a stable and reliable source of income.

6. Tuition fee remission

The state implements a tuition fee reduction policy for some students who have difficulties in paying tuition fees due to economic conditions, especially orphans and disabled students, ethnic minority students and children of martyrs, and children of families with special care. Among them, the monthly income at school (including various scholarships and subsidies) is lower than the average minimum living standard of residents in the area where the school is located, and students with particularly difficult learning and living conditions are exempted from all tuition fees; For other students with general difficulties, some tuition fees may be appropriately reduced. Specific relief measures shall be formulated by the provincial education, price and finance departments. Colleges and universities shall, according to the relevant provisions of the local provincial education administrative departments and the school's implementation measures, combine the students' own performance and economic situation, examine and decide one by one on the basis of careful investigation, and make timely adjustments according to the actual situation.

(5) Establish a correct view of love.

When students transfer from middle school to university, they naturally add a life problem-love. There is a saying called "the love that can't be avoided in college". But for freshmen, it is extremely important to treat this problem correctly.

First of all, the pre-university period is a period of high incidence of love (especially for girls) and lovelorn, and it is a frequent "permutation and combination period". Puppy love is not conducive to success, and it is not conducive to freshmen's smooth adaptation to college life and study. Secondly, college freshmen's love is not conducive to correctly grasping the standards of love. Because of the uncertainty of college students' career direction, economic situation and other prospects, they have little social experience and have a poor understanding of real life. They are often full of idealized colors about love and can't stand the test of real life. At the same time, premature love is not conducive to the correct treatment and handling of various problems in love. In addition, puppy love is motivated and one-sided, and its success rate is low. It is often "predestined to know each other and never get together". In short, college students' love is not conducive to the all-round development of morality, intelligence and physique, and puppy love is more harmful than good for college students to become talents.

But people have feelings. There is nothing wrong with liking each other, and there is no need to blame yourself too much, but we must pay attention to the following points:

First, draw a clear line between love and friendship.

Second, love should be subordinated to learning. For college students, love obeys studies, which means putting studies first, ensuring that reason transcends feelings and truly grasps behavior.

Third, we must abide by the ethics of love.

Fourth, treat love setbacks correctly.

(6) Planning for the future

Entering university is not the ultimate goal of college students. For them, college is just a place to recharge and refuel before entering their careers. Everyone will eventually go out of campus to realize their dreams. However, in fact, many college students don't care about what they will do in the future, don't know what they can do, and have never considered planning their future. "Everything has to wait until graduation." It was not until graduation that I felt: "If I go to college again, I will plan my career from the beginning of my freshman year ..." Fortunately, this "sigh" has attracted more and more attention of freshmen.

In short, planning your future means planning your career. Career planning includes planning short-term, medium-term and long-term career goals, cultivating the abilities and conditions needed to achieve the goals, and adjusting your plans and goals according to your personality, interests, personality characteristics, professional ability and social needs. Specifically, it can be divided into the following steps:

1. The first step in career planning is to look at yourself comprehensively, evaluate yourself correctly, and know your interests, abilities, values and ideals, strengths and weaknesses. Dig out the areas that really interest you during college, so as to determine your career direction. Knowing your own values will help you find out how you feel about the world around you and how you live.

2. Design several schemes according to your own planning goals, and study the capabilities and conditions required by each scheme. Of course, any scheme should be designed according to its own professional characteristics. Therefore, how to develop your career according to your major is a problem that every freshman should seriously consider. It is the premise of planning target design to understand the professional characteristics and the professional fields that each major faces. While clarifying the professional fields that you want to do and have the ability, determine the best plan according to social needs.

3, understand the specific requirements of each career goal, and then implement the plan, and adjust the plan and program according to social needs to meet the needs of career development.

4. Participate in internships related to career goals, increase your ability and cultivate your intuitive understanding of career planning. What needs to be pointed out here is that no matter what your career plan is, some abilities are necessary, which is also the reason for the research fever in universities. It is generally believed that some of them are compulsory: CET-4 and CET-6; National computer grade examination; Civil service qualification examination; Accounting professional and technical qualification examination; Teacher qualification examination, etc.
