The College has been aiming at establishing a high-level college of life sciences with international influence, taking scientific research as the leading factor, taking discipline construction as the main line, building a team of high-quality teachers and striving for major national projects as the starting point, and striving to achieve rapid development in scientific research achievements, personnel training, team building and industrialization of science and technology. After years of construction and development, the School of Life Sciences of Fudan University has become the cradle of national biological elites.

In the course of running a school for many years, biology has trained nearly ten thousand graduates for our country. Graduates are full of peaches and plums and talented people come forth in large numbers. Tong Dizhou and Te Pei Feng, who graduated in their early years, became members of the first generation of academic departments in China. Among the students trained after 1949, more than 10 became academicians of the two academies, and more students struggled in related academic fields at home and abroad, becoming leaders and academic backbones in various industries and research fields, and achieved remarkable results.
