2. hunan radio and tv university, founded in 1979, is an open university which adopts modern educational technology for distance teaching and focuses on cultivating professional talents. It is an ordinary institution of higher learning directly under the Hunan Provincial Department of Education. Administratively, it is managed by the Provincial Department of Education, and the teaching business is guided by the Central Radio and TV University, and the system of overall planning, graded running, graded management and division of labor and cooperation is implemented. The school headquarters now has seven teaching entities, namely, Humanities College, Polytechnic College, Business School, Foreign Language College, Continuing Education College, directly affiliated branch schools and affiliated technical secondary schools. There are more than 3,500 full-time teachers, 800 administrators, 400 technicians and part-time teachers in RTVU system. The electricity-saving headquarters has 538 teaching staff and 307 teachers. Among the teachers, there are 23 professors, 92 associate senior technical positions, 57 lecturers and 76 doctors and masters. In July 2003, with the approval of the provincial government, Hunan Network Engineering Vocational College was established by using the resources of this department to hold higher vocational education.
