Tokyo University of the Arts is a member of Japan's super-internationalized university program and an art institution with a long history in Japan. Together with Kyoto University of the Arts, Aichi University of the Arts, Kanazawa University of Arts and Crafts, and Okinawa University of the Arts, it is also known as the five national art universities in Japan, and it is the largest among national public art universities. It is also the only national art university in Japan and is unanimously recognized as the highest artist training institution in Japan.
