The list of renamed universities in Sichuan during the 14th Five-Year Plan is as follows:

According to Deyang Education Bureau, recently, the 14th Five-Year Plan for the Establishment of Colleges and Universities in Sichuan Province was announced, and two colleges and universities in Deyang were renamed as "Universities" and included in the plan. Civil Aviation Flight Academy of China plans to change its name to "Civil Aviation Flight University of China" (tentative name). Sichuan Institute of Engineering Technology intends to change its name to "Sichuan University of Engineering Technology" (tentative name).

Civil Aviation Flight University of China

Founded in 1956, China Civil Aviation Flight Academy is a full-time ordinary institution of higher learning directly under the Civil Aviation Administration of China, and a university jointly established by the Civil Aviation Administration of China and Sichuan Province. As the main university for training high-quality talents in China's civil aviation, after more than 60 years of construction and development, College has become the largest, most capable and highest-level institution for training professional civil aviation pilots in the world, enjoying a good reputation in China and having a high influence in the world's civil aviation industry.

More than 70% pilots and more than 80% captains of civil aviation in China have graduated from this place, which is called "the cradle of civil aviation pilots in China". The school was selected as the pilot unit of "MPL" course promoted by the United Nations and the "double first-class" construction plan of Sichuan Province.

Sichuan Institute of Engineering and Technology

Sichuan Institute of Engineering and Technology is a public full-time ordinary institution of higher learning approved by the Sichuan Provincial People's Government. Founded in 1959, the school was originally named "Deyang Heavy Machinery Manufacturing School of the First Ministry of Machinery Industry", which was jointly established by the state and China Zhong Er, Dongfang Steam Turbine, Dongfang Motor and other heavy equipment enterprises.

The school was selected as a national high-quality college, a national demonstration college and the first batch of high-end technical and skilled undergraduate talents training reform pilot units in Sichuan Province.
