The school has 7 departments, 37 specialized colleges (departments),/kloc-0 engineering colleges, 2 Chinese-foreign cooperative education institutions and 7 directly affiliated hospitals. At present, there are seven campuses, namely Zijingang, Yuquan, Xixi, Huajiachi, Zhijiang, Zhoushan and Haining, with a total collection of 7.87 million books.

The school has 60739 full-time students, 5596 international students and 9674 faculty members. Teachers include 52 academicians from China Academy of Sciences and China Academy of Engineering, senior professor of liberal arts 15, and distinguished professor 10 1 person from Changjiang Scholar Award Program of Ministry of Education.

The school has 274 doctoral degree programs authorized by two disciplines (including 54 independently added), 59 first-level disciplines authorized by doctoral degrees, 309 first-level disciplines authorized by two disciplines (including 56 independently added), 62 first-level disciplines authorized by master's degrees, 4 professional doctoral degrees and 27 professional master's degrees.

The school, formerly Qiushi College, was founded on 1897 and closed on 19 14. 1928 National Zhejiang University was newly established in the former site of Qiushi College.

1937 moved westward, running schools in Zunyi and Meitan, and 1946 moved back to Hangzhou in the autumn. From 65438 to 0952, some departments of Zhejiang University were placed under the Chinese Academy of Sciences and other universities, and the main part was reorganized into several universities in Hangzhou, which later developed into the original Zhejiang University, Hangzhou University, Zhejiang Agricultural University and Zhejiang Medical University. 1998, four universities with the same roots merged to form the new Zhejiang University.
