Generally speaking, the Medical College of Central South University refers to the new campus of Xiangya Medical College, which is the campus next to the Third Affiliated Hospital of Xiangya.

Because strictly speaking, Central South University has four campuses: Xiangya New Campus, Headquarters, South Campus and Railway Campus. The south school is closer to the headquarters.

Others, such as Xiangya Old School (Xiangya First Affiliated Hospital) and Xiangya Second Hospital, are all trainee or internship bases of Xiangya Medical College.
