Founded in September 2009, Southwest Petroleum University Law School is a key secondary college of Southwest Petroleum University, which was formed by the merger of the former School of Humanities and Social Sciences of Southwest Petroleum University and the former School of Law of Southwest Petroleum University. There are 68 faculty members, including 65 full-time teachers, 6 professors and 25 associate professors. Among them, there are national excellent teachers 1 person, 2 provincial and ministerial excellent teachers, 5 with doctor's degrees and 32 with master's degrees, forming a team of teachers with high theoretical level, dedication and dedication, especially the backbone teachers with strong scientific research ability and high teaching level. At present, the college has five teaching and research sections, the school Putonghua training and testing center, two comprehensive laboratories and other teaching institutions, a special reference room, Sichuan Petroleum and Natural Gas Development and Research Center and other scientific research institutions, Sichuan key research base of philosophy and social sciences, and several teaching service institutions such as students' professional practice bases. The college has three undergraduate majors: law, social work and public administration, with 950 undergraduates. There are four postgraduate training directions, namely, public management and administrative management research under the first-level discipline of management science and engineering, industrial economy and law research under the discipline of industrial economics, Marxist theory and legal issues in modernization, ideological and political education and social work research. There are currently 105 graduate students.
