Mengminwei Building of Nankai University, Polymer and Environmental Science Experimental Building, was officially started on February 28th, 2002 and completed on October 23rd, 2003. The actual investment was16.88 million, and the construction area was 9130m2. The building is magnificent and elegant in appearance and advanced in internal facilities, making it another landmark building of Nankai Park. Nankai University School of Environmental Science and Engineering, Department of Environmental Science, Research Center for Environmental and Social Development, and State Key Laboratory of Polymer Materials with adsorption and separation functions all work in the building.

Mengmin Micro Building has greatly improved the teaching and experimental conditions of the Institute of Polymer Chemistry and the College of Environmental Science and Engineering, and played an important role in accelerating the development of these disciplines, improving the level of scientific research and cultivating high-quality talents.

Mr Meng is a famous patriotic industrialist in Hong Kong. He is enthusiastic about public welfare undertakings and has been committed to the development of education in China Mainland. In order to support the discipline construction, scientific research and personnel training of Nankai University, Mr. Meng and his emerging education charity foundation generously donated RMB 5 million to Nankai University to support the construction of the polymer and environmental science experimental building.
