This major mainly trains senior engineering and technical personnel in environmental engineering who are engaged in pollution prevention, environmental assessment, environmental planning and management, environmental protection, water resources utilization and protection. Graduates of this major will systematically master the basic knowledge of natural science and the basic theories and knowledge of this major and related majors, have the ability to engage in engineering design, operation management and scientific research of environmental engineering-related majors, and have certain knowledge and skills in computers, foreign languages and architecture.
The main courses include fluid mechanics, physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, environmental engineering microbiology, environmental monitoring, drainage pipe network, pumps and pumping stations, water pollution control engineering, water supply treatment, air pollution control engineering, and solid waste treatment and recovery.
Employment graduates can engage in environmental engineering and related fields in government departments, planning departments, universities, scientific research departments, design institutes, environmental protection, chemical industry, light industry, energy, medicine and other departments or enterprises and institutions, such as engineering design, management, construction, teaching, scientific research, technology development, environmental management and planning.
