University of Illinois (University? Illinois), referred to as UI or U of I, was founded in 1867 and is one of the most influential public university systems in the United States. It has the reputation of "public ivy" and enjoys a high reputation all over the world. Its three branches are located in Urbana Champaign, Illinois, Chicago, the largest city, and Springfield, the state capital.

Its comprehensive strength in engineering ranks in the top five in the United States, and it is also a world-class level in the fields of science and social sciences. Thirty alumni who have studied and worked here won the Nobel Prize.
University history:
There are two quiet towns with beautiful scenery, about 0/40 miles south of Chicago, Illinois, USA. The two cities live next to each other, separated by Wright Street, with Urbana in the east and Champaign in the west. The University of Illinois was founded here and is now the seat of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
/kloc-In the mid-9th century, with the rapid development of American economy, people began to call for practical industrial and agricultural education. 1857, Professor Jonah santner of Illinois College and Rep. Justin Morel of Vermont introduced a bill in Congress, requesting land grant to establish an agricultural and mechanical college. The bill was passed by Congress, but was rejected by then President Buchanan.
