The college has fully considered the organic integration of tradition and modernity. In teaching and research, it not only inherits the traditional academic characteristics, but also has a distinct era and a broad international vision. At present, there are teaching and research institutions such as Chinese Language Teaching and Research Section (China Institute of Classical Literature), China History Teaching and Research Section (China Institute of Ancient History), Classics Teaching and Research Section (Research Center of Classics), Basic Chinese Studies Teaching and Research Section, Western Regions Historical Language Research Institute (Research Center of Buddhism in Sino-Tibetan Language Department) and Sinology Magazine Editorial Department.
The college has strong academic strength. Teachers were initially selected from the faculties of literature, history and philosophy, and then invited famous experts and scholars at home and abroad to join. By the end of 20 15 and 1, the National College had enrolled 9 classes of Chinese Studies, with 35 full-time teachers, including 3 professors and 9 associate professors. At present, there are 4 distinguished professor, 5 lecture professors, 6 academic advisers of China Academy of Sciences, 52 members of expert committees and 40 part-time professors.
The college implements a six-year undergraduate-graduate continuing education system, formulates a complete and systematic teaching plan for Chinese studies, and establishes a curriculum system with classic studies as the core. After completing two years of basic education, students enter the tutorial system according to the principle of two-way choice and unified coordination. Adhering to the tradition of "studying in thousands of books and traveling in Wan Li Road", the College implements the practice system of study tour to guide students to broaden their horizons and integrate knowledge with practice. Lu, a doctoral student in 2006, was instructed by Fu Xuanyan of distinguished professor, and was awarded as an excellent thesis in the 20 1 1 annual national top 100 excellent doctoral dissertations. ?
