Jiangsu Ocean University is a full-time undergraduate college in Jiangsu Province. The school's predecessor was Huaihai University (to be established) founded by 1985 and Huaihai Institute of Technology approved by the Ministry of Education. 1998 to 2002, the former Jiangsu Salt School, Lianyungang Fisheries School and Lianyungang Chemical College with a history of more than 40 years were successively merged into Huaihai Institute of Technology.
2065438+June 2009, the Ministry of Education approved the school to be renamed Jiangsu Ocean University. The history of running marine higher education can be traced back to the New Hailian Fisheries College (later renamed Lianyungang Fisheries School), which was founded in 1958. On July 20 13, the State Council Academic Degrees Committee approved the school as a master's degree awarding unit. From July, 2065438 to July, 2007, the school became the project construction unit for awarding doctoral degrees.
The school is located in the pilot area of the "One Belt, One Road" intersection core area of the east bridgehead of the Eurasian Continental Bridge, and Lianyungang, the first batch of coastal open cities in China. At present, there are four campuses: Cangwu Campus, Tongguan Campus, Songtiao Campus and Xugou Campus. The main campus (Cangwu Campus) is located at the west foot of Guo Hua, a national 5A scenic spot and the birthplace of Journey to the West.
The total area is 2 193.83 mu, and the school building area is 637,600 square meters.
