Word annotates the text
If you want to annotate a word text (such as a new noun, an English abbreviation, etc.). ), but you don't want comments to appear in the document. Any of the following three methods can help you achieve it:
① First select the text to be annotated, and use the "Insert → Annotate" command to open the annotation window. After entering the comment text, close the window and the text will be shaded in yellow (it will not be printed). When the mouse moves over the text, the annotation text will be displayed above it.
② Move the cursor behind the text to be annotated, and use the "Insert → Footnote or Endnote" command to open the footnote or endnote dialog box. After the settings are correct, click OK, then move the cursor to the lower left of the page text, and enter the comment text, and a numerical serial number will appear behind the above text. When the cursor moves to this serial number, the comment text will be displayed (but the comment text will be displayed at the bottom of the document and can be printed);
③ If the annotation text is long, we can first store the annotation text (pictures are also acceptable) in an independent file (non-WORD format is also acceptable) and then establish a link: select the text to be annotated, use the "Insert → Hyperlink" command to open the "Insert Hyperlink" dialog box, and enter the text to be annotated in the box to the right of "Text to be displayed". Enter the detailed path and name of the previously created annotation text file in the box below "Please type the file name or webpage name" (you can also use the "Browse" button to find it), and press the "OK" button, the text to be annotated will become blue underlined (it will not affect the printing of the document). Click on the text (you need to hold down the Ctrl key in WORD XP) to directly open the file where the annotation text is located.
