Taiyuan University of Technology is a national "double-class" construction university and a national "2 1 1 engineering" key construction university. Its predecessor was Shanxi University Hall, which was founded in 1902. It is one of the first three national universities in China.

The school is industry-oriented, combines science and engineering, and develops multidisciplinary, covering eight categories: science, engineering, economics, law, teaching, literature, management and art. There are 24 professional colleges and/kloc-0 Chinese-foreign cooperative education institutions (to be established). There are four campuses in Mingxiang, Yingxi, Huyu and Berlin, covering an area of 2,654.38+0.3 million square meters and a total construction area of 6,543.8+0.69 million square meters.
