Since the Three Gorges Teaching Practice Base was officially opened in 2005, it has provided good teaching practice service for nearly 1,000 teachers and students of nearly 10 majors in many departments of the school, and has become one of the three major practice bases alongside Beidaihe and Zhoukoudian Practice Stations. Its superior location conditions and rich teaching practice content also attracted Sun Yat-sen University, Wuhan University and other related majors to practice here. This year, the school decided to build an innovation platform for the dominant disciplines of the Three Gorges on this basis.
This research is one of the important links in the construction of the Three Gorges discipline innovation platform, which has been highly valued by the school and the Institute of Environment. The school is accompanied by Professor Teng, director of the Three Gorges Discipline Innovation Platform Center, and Associate Professor Zhang Advanced, the teaching stationmaster of the Three Gorges Teaching Practice Base. The School of Environment consists of Professor Liang Xing, Dean, Professor Wan, Professor Jin Menggui, Vice President and Associate Professor of the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering. The focus of this survey is to understand the basic situation of the construction of the Three Gorges base and the conditions for the construction of the school's discipline platform, and to provide opinions for the construction of the discipline platform.
In Zigui, Academician Yuan inspected the teaching practice base of the Three Gorges, the proposed test site of innovation platform, the monitoring point of fairy mountain fault zone, and the practice routes of Cambrian karst groundwater in Sixi area and Carboniferous-Permian karst groundwater in Sheshan West.
During the inspection tour of the base construction, Mr. Zhang Xianjin introduced the current construction of the teaching base and visited the museum, reference room and specimen room of the base under construction. Academician Yuan fully affirmed the construction of the teaching practice base of the Three Gorges Project.
17 Academician Yuan inspected the karst groundwater phenomenon in fairy mountain fault zone and Zigui area. Mr. Yuan climbed the dew point of fairy mountain fault spring in the rain, regardless of the high mountain and long road, and went deep into Sheshan River to visit the source. Academician Yuan personally sampled and tested along the way, and recorded the hydrogeology, development and hydrochemical characteristics of karst groundwater in this area in detail. He showed great interest in the karst problems in Zigui area, and thought it was a good experimental place to study karst geological problems.
Academician Yuan also inspected the proposed Mao Ping River basin, and made a detailed investigation on the soil erosion test site and the Sixi karst water system in the basin. He believes that the basin, as a platform for experiment and subject innovation, has a good research foundation and potential for further research, which deserves serious consideration.
