Hefei Vocational and Technical College (formerly Chaohu Vocational and Technical College) was established in 2002. It was upgraded from three provincial key middle schools: Chaohu Health School, Chaohu Agricultural School (Anhui Land Management School) and Chaohu Finance School. It is one of the earlier vocational colleges in our province.

Subsequently, Anhui Automobile Transportation Senior Technical School, Anhui Radio and TV University Chaohu Branch and Chaohu Commercial Cadre School merged one after another. 2011August After the administrative division of Anhui Province was adjusted, the Ministry of Education approved Chaohu Vocational and Technical College to be renamed Hefei Vocational and Technical College in April, 20 12.
