The printing and packaging department of Wuhan University now has professional laboratories for printing engineering and packaging engineering. Set up printing engineering, electronic publishing, packaging engineering, animation design and other majors or professional directions; There are also professional laboratories and research institutions such as printing and packaging experiment center, image communication engineering and technology research center, printing material testing laboratory, multimedia experiment center, color testing laboratory, screen printing laboratory, printing engineering experiment center, packaging material testing laboratory, photography laboratory, packaging design room, network studio and animation design room. It has a complete set of experimental and practical equipment for the fully digital production process of "Yinnengjie" in Heidelberg, Germany, with nearly 10 million yuan, including M656IM extension in Britain, high-end networking system, Peking University Founder color phototypesetting system, ITC printability instrument, a complete set of American X-Rite color detection equipment, a complete paper ink detection system, packaging material detection instruments and more than 200 Macs and PCs.

The undergraduate majors of printing and packaging department are: printing engineering (including electronic publishing direction) and packaging engineering (including packaging design and animation design direction). Among them, printing engineering is the only 2 1 1 key construction discipline during the tenth five-year plan period. Relying on the strong faculty, we have completed a large number of national, provincial and ministerial scientific research projects in recent years, published more than 50 monographs and published more than 600 papers in important journals at home and abroad.

The printing and packaging department is very active in foreign exchange. We have established good cooperative relations with Wuppertal University in Germany, EMPA College in Switzerland, ITC in the Netherlands, Lee University in the UK, Moscow State Printing University, Hong Kong Institute of Professional Education and Hong Kong Printing Art Society. We have signed long-term cooperation agreements on teaching and scientific research with NPES Company of America, Essex Company of Belgium, Guangdong Map Publishing House, Starlight Group of Hong Kong and Leo Paper Printing Group of Hong Kong.

Over the past 20 years, the printing and packaging department has trained more than 200 graduate students, more than 2,000 undergraduates and junior college students, and 1000 other students. Student employment is distributed in more than 30 provinces, municipalities, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government. At present, there are more than 350 full-time undergraduates and more than 0/00 graduate students. The employment situation of graduates is good, and the one-time employment rate of graduates remains above 95%.
