Nankai District is one of the downtown areas of Tianjin, located in the southwest of Tianjin, China, which starts from Haihe River in the east and faces Hebei District. Along Rongji Street, Xing 'an Road, Nanma Road to Nanmenwai Street, Weijin Road and Weijin South Road, it borders Heping District and Hexi District respectively. West, south to Miyun Road, Xieyuan West Road, Chentangzhuang railway branch line, connected with Xiqing District; North to Laotieqiao Street and Ma Bei Road, along Xima Road to Xiguan Street, Qiangzi River and South Canal, adjacent to Hongqiao District.
Nankai district was originally a depression in the south of the old city of Tianjin. In the late Qing dynasty, it was called the "southern depression" of the old city of Tianjin. The famous Nankai University was founded in 19 19, so the name of Nankai District was established in 1956. Nankai District mainly includes the old city of Tianjin and the area south of Tianjin and west of Tianjin Concession.
Nankai is not only a famous historical and cultural area, but also one of the important birthplaces of northern culture. In terms of folk crafts, the colorful sculpture of "Clay Fighter Zhang", the vivid "Kite Wei" and the exquisite "Brick Carving Liu" are the three wonders of Tianjin crafts.
