The College has gradually become international, established close cooperative relations and normalized academic research exchange mechanisms with relevant disciplines of internationally renowned universities such as the University of Sheffield, Durham University, Warwick University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of Wisconsin, Mississippi State University and Albert University in Canada, and built four international cooperative research platforms, including high-voltage external insulation and icing field test base, reliability evaluation of large power grid, reliability of renewable energy conversion system and intelligent information processing, to build high-level scientific research platforms and information processing for the College.
On the basis of establishing a regular cooperation and exchange mechanism with a number of overseas universities in the early stage, the College has established specific objectives and implementation plans for international personnel training, vigorously promoted multi-level joint school-running projects, and established multi-level international cooperation projects covering doctoral, master's and undergraduate personnel training. Cooperative schools include Nottingham University and Queen's University of Belfast, University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee, California State University at Sacramento, Wayne State University, Curtin University in Australia, etc. At present, more than 100 students have been sent to foreign universities for joint training, initially forming an operating mechanism for international talent training.
