The school is located in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi Province, the first batch of national historical and cultural cities. The existing Hu Xiang Campus, New Factory, China Institute of Light Industry Ceramics and Sanbao Ceramics Training Park cover an area of 1970 mu, with a school building area of 709,000 square meters. There are 60 colleges, including College of Materials Science and Engineering, College of Ceramic Fine Arts, College of Design Art, College of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering, College of Management and Economics, College of Information Engineering, College of Foreign Languages, College of Arts and Culture, College of Science and Technology, Department of Law, and Department of Physical Education and Military Education.
Historical evolution: The school started at 19 10 and was founded by China modern industrialist and educator China Ceramic School (located in Poyang, Jiangxi). 19 12 was renamed as Jiangxi lirao ceramic school. 19 15 was renamed as Jiangxi second-class industrial school, and 19 16 set up a branch school in Jingdezhen. 1925 was renamed Jiangxi Liyao School. 1927 was renamed Jiangxi Ceramic School. 1934 moved to Jiujiang, Jiangxi, renamed Jiujiang Ceramic Vocational School, and then moved to Jing 'an, Jiangxi (1937), Pingxiang, Jiangxi (1938) and Jingdezhen, Jiangxi (1944) to run schools. From 65438 to 0948, it was upgraded to Jiangxi Ceramic Institute, becoming the first ceramic institute in China. 1952 National colleges and universities were adjusted and Jiangxi Institute of Ceramics was abolished. On the basis of the original school site, equipment and some professional teachers, Jingdezhen Ceramic Experimental Research Institute (now called China Institute of Light Industry Ceramics) was established. Approved by Jiangxi Provincial People's Committee from 65438 to 0958, Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute was established as an undergraduate course on the basis of Jingdezhen Ceramic Art School, Jingdezhen Ceramic Workers' Technical School and Jiangxi Industrial Technical School, which opened a new page in the history of China's ceramic higher education. 1975 was approved by the State Council and became a university directly under the former Ministry of Light Industry. 1998 was transformed into a central and local * * * construction, which was mainly managed by Jiangxi province. 1999 China institute of light industry ceramics merged into the school. 1984 was approved as a master's degree awarding unit, and it was approved as a doctoral degree awarding unit in 20 13. 20 16 was renamed Jingdezhen Ceramic University.

Discipline: Pay equal attention to arts and crafts, blend art with industry and commerce, highlight the advantages of "design art and ceramic engineering", and build and form three characteristic discipline groups of "art design and ceramic culture, ceramic material engineering and intelligent manufacturing, and ceramic economy and management". The school has three first-class doctoral programs in design, materials science and engineering, and history of science and technology, three first-class master programs in management science and engineering1,and eight professional master programs in cultural relics and museums, among which ceramic design and art are the dominant disciplines in the Tenth Five-Year Plan. In the fourth round of national discipline evaluation results, the disciplines of "design" and "fine arts" are all "B+" (national 10, Jiangxi 1), and the discipline of "materials science and engineering" is "C+" (69th in China and 2nd in Jiangxi). The school has 59 undergraduate majors, covering engineering, art, management, literature, science, history and other disciplines.
