Jinan University Political Economy Postgraduate Entrance Examination Experience Sharing?
I. Personal introduction

I am a fresh candidate of the class of 2022. My undergraduate college is Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, and my graduate school and major is political economy of Jinan University. The total score of the initial test is 400, and the scores of all subjects are: English -75, Politics -77, Mathematics -3 1 15, and Western Economics-133. Ranked fourth in the initial test, and ranked seventh in the final weighted score of the initial test and retest (the retest is 32 to 20). Generally speaking, the results of the initial examination and re-examination are not bad. Although there are no special subjects, fortunately, all subjects have played a stable role, which has enabled me to be admitted to Jinan University as I wish, and I have not failed my efforts for more than a year.

Second, the reasons for choosing a school

Jinan University, referred to as "Jinan University", is located in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province. It is directly under the leadership of the Central United Front Work Department and is jointly established by the Ministry of Education, the United Front Work Department and Guangdong Province. It is a national "double-class" and national "2 1 1 project" construction university; Selected in the national "985 Platform", "11plan", "20 1 1 plan", excellent doctoral education and training plan, excellent legal talent education and training plan, national college students' innovation and entrepreneurship training plan, humanities and social sciences of the Ministry of Education. National Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language Base, the State Council Overseas Chinese Affairs Office Chinese Education Base, National Construction of High-level University Postgraduate Project, New Engineering Research and Practice Project, China Government Scholarship Receiving Institution for Foreign Students in China, and the first batch of demonstration universities in China to deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education; Director of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Logistics and Supply Chain Innovation Alliance; It is the first batch of universities in China to try out the credit system.

The school's predecessor was Jinan School, which was founded by the Qing government in Nanjing on 1906. Later, it moved to Shanghai, and 1927 was renamed as National Jinan University. During his stay in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, he moved to Jianyang, Fujian. 1946 moved back to Shanghai,1949 merged with Fudan University, Jiaotong University and other universities in August. After the founding of New China, Jinan University was rebuilt in Guangzhou, 1958. Suspended during the Cultural Revolution, 1978 reopened in Guangzhou.

By March 2022, the school had five campuses in Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Zhuhai, with a total campus area of 2143,000 square meters and a school building area of 18 10 1000 square meters. There are 38 directly affiliated colleges, 58 departments and 27 research institutes. There are 105 undergraduate majors, 4 1 master's degree authorized first-level disciplines, 26 doctoral degree authorized first-level disciplines and 32 professional degree authorized categories. Postdoctoral mobile stations 19, postdoctoral research mobile stations 1; 2732 full-time teachers; Full-time students 45 180.

The fourth round of discipline evaluation is theoretical economics B- and applied economics B+. At present, the School of Economics offers theoretical economics, including political economics, western economics, world economy, population, resources and environmental economics. Applied Economics is offered in the School of Economics, the School of Industrial Economics and the School of Economic Sociology (there is no unified entrance examination for the School of Economic Sociology).

Third, prepare lessons for professional courses

It is time. Like mathematics, the preparation of specialized courses should start as early as possible! I started preparing for specialized courses in March last year, with an average of 2-3 hours a day, which means I have been preparing for exams for 9 months. The specialized courses in Jinan University are not difficult, and the students who come ashore are generally 120+ and 130+. Therefore, in order not to be left behind too much in professional courses, we must start preparing for professional courses as soon as possible and memorize all the knowledge points. As long as you lay a good foundation, you will find it very easy to brush the real questions later.

About the preparation plan. Because I am a cross-examinee, self-study is a little hard for me, so I signed up for Bing Zheng's whole class to study with my class. From March to June last year, I followed the course through all the basic contents of macro and micro, and used Ge Bing's lecture notes and Gao Hongye's typical problem sets as exercise materials (Pindick's micro is the reference book of Jinan University, and Pindick's typical problem sets are better). After entering the intensive stage in June, the difficulty of the course is obviously increased. For the candidates of Jinan University, Bing Ge's intensive class is "high-level". Even if it sounds laborious, you should stick to it, because you will find it easy to do the real questions (easy 120+). After 10, enter the sprint stage, mainly to brush the real questions of the new year and the exercises after class on the designated textbooks. Because Jinan University's specialized courses don't examine noun explanations, the task of reciting is relatively easy. When preparing short answer questions and essay questions in the later stage, don't memorize them, but think more about what points you want to answer and why, so that you won't panic when you see unfamiliar questions in the examination room.

About counseling materials. First of all, the designated textbooks of Jinan University are Pindick Micro and Man Kun Macro. The after-class exercises of these two books are good practice materials. Secondly, Gao Hongye's macro and micro, because the difficulty is similar to Dick's textbook, can also be used to practice hands. As for Fan Lian, Dornbush and other textbooks, they are suitable for institutions with difficult specialized courses (such as CUHK and NPC), and students admitted to Jinan University can choose not to read them. In addition, if you are a weak multiple-choice student, you can do Yin Bocheng's Green Paper. You don't need to do so many exercises in specialized courses, but you must do it seriously, because it is very likely that similar questions or even original questions will appear in the exam, and you will earn money.

Fourth, political preparation.

It is time. Preparation for the political exam began in July. In the early stage, I promised to study for 1 ~ 2 hours every day. After Xiao Xiurong published 8 sets of volumes and 4 sets of volumes in February, the study duration may be 2-3 hours a day (even some students spend 4 hours a day). In my opinion, politics is a relatively easy preparation subject in the early stage and takes up a lot of time in the later stage. Because the later you get, the more knowledge you need to memorize, so preparing early will leave you more time to review, instead of starting to review politics in the last two months. By the way, some students with good foundation or strong memory ability can master and remember many political knowledge points in two or three months, and then get high marks; But these bosses are a minority after all, so let's arrange our time according to the review rhythm of ordinary students.

About the preparation plan. I divide political preparation into two stages, one is to watch classes and the other is to recite classes. Watch classes from July to September, watch Xu Tao's political network class 1h(2~3 sections) every day, and try to read all the knowledge points of Ma Yuan, Hughes, Mao Zong and modern history in three months with Xiao Xiurong's lecture 1000 as a supporting book.

From June 5438+ 10, we can enter the second stage. I use Mr. Xu Tao's little yellow book as a recitation manual (the recitation manual is much simpler and more convenient to remember than intensive reading class), and I try to recite it completely for more than 2 times. 10 began to recite at the end of June, and there was not enough time. It is suggested that the plan should be backed up from early June 10.

When reciting, brush 1000 twice to consolidate the error-prone knowledge points of multiple-choice questions. 1 1 month later, when Xiao Si Xiao's eight poems are published, Xiao Si Xiao's eight poems can be used as the main reading materials.

On the choice of teachers. Famous political instructors include Xiao Xiurong, Xu Tao and Sister Leg. According to my practical experience, I think the online courses in Xu Tao are really easy to understand, which can give science students like me a general understanding of the political knowledge framework soon. Needless to say, teacher Xiao Xiurong, the eternal T0 level, whether it is reviewing materials or betting questions, is of very high quality and is basically necessary.

Leg sister's skill class is also recommended by many people, but I haven't seen it, so I won't comment. In addition, for political bloggers on various platforms, my suggestion is not to blindly believe in the so-called X-hour crash, omnipotent templates and videos with knowledge points, or to focus on authoritative review materials. Of course, if you have the spare capacity to study, you can really look at all kinds of notes compiled by bloggers to consolidate what you have learned. Take me for example. The night before the exam, I happened to read the information about Ma Yuan Principles compiled by a blogger named Feifei Notebook House. As a result, when I took the political exam the next day, I came up with the principle of "inevitability and contingency" that Xiao Lao didn't bet on. Thank you very much

V. English preparation

As for English, as I am an English major (I have to take CET-4 and CET-8), I haven't worked hard on English review and haven't learned English for a long time. So I will only share with you some of my experience in preparing for the exam. For the specific English preparation plan, you can look at the answers of other excellent respondents.

About words. Words must be the basis of exam-oriented English and the easiest part to master. At least half of the time I spend in English is spent on words. The postgraduate entrance examination is only a few thousand words. If you insist on learning new words and reviewing old words every day from April, you will definitely be able to review the words thoroughly before the exam. Take me for example. I use scallop word software to recite words (both physical word books and software can be used). I spend about 40Min minutes reciting words every day, and I have checked the word list four or five times before the exam. The more you get to the back, the more proficient you are in reciting, the less time you spend every day, and basically you won't encounter unfamiliar words when you do the problem. It should be noted that the postgraduate entrance examination vocabulary often examines the strange meanings of mature words. Therefore, during memorizing words, we must master the meaning of words in various parts of speech, and it is best to remember them with example sentences or examples.

About grammar. Postgraduate English does not examine grammar questions separately, but it will involve grammar knowledge in reading comprehension, translation and composition. But generally speaking, English for postgraduate entrance examination is not very demanding on grammar, even if you only have high school grammar knowledge, it is enough to cope with the examination questions. So my suggestion is that if your grammar is ok, you don't need to study grammar knowledge specially, you can improve your sense of language by reading and writing more. If your grammar level is really poor (my grammar level is also poor), you can read a book "English Grammar for Senior High School". Although it is a high school counseling material, it is guaranteed to be enough!

About reading and writing. There is nothing to say about these two parts, just practicing and keeping the touch. In reading, you can directly use Ying Ying's real questions for nearly 20 years for training, and practice two articles every day (it is recommended to do it from beginning to end, because the difficulty of the real English questions for postgraduate entrance examination is gradually reduced, so that you will be more confident in the future and can better test the learning effect).

It should be noted that you don't finish writing the questions and answers, but you should record the familiar words and common phrases that appear in the reading articles. These are all good review materials. In addition, you can also look at the answer analysis, why choose this option, and grasp the questioner's problem-solving ideas. In writing, I mainly sorted out some common writing sentence patterns and templates (the postgraduate entrance examination composition is still relatively rigid, especially the small composition), and then I memorized it. I don't recommend the popular composition guidance books and universal templates on the market. The first reason is that such materials are generally very thick, and it is impossible to memorize all the templates. The second reason is that the so-called universal template is not omnipotent, and you may even get low marks in your composition because of copying templates mechanically. Therefore, I still suggest reading more sample essays on real questions and sorting out templates and sentence patterns by myself, so that the knowledge memorized can be used freely in the examination room.

Sixth, math preparation.

It is time. Math preparation must be early! I began to prepare for the math exam from June 65438+February of the previous year (basically starting from scratch), and spent nearly a whole year preparing math subjects. Mathematics for postgraduate entrance examination is different from competition mathematics. Its title is not particularly strange, focusing on the basics. Therefore, as long as you are willing to work hard, lay a good foundation, brush more questions and summarize more, and get more than 90 points, 100 should be no problem for most students. Of course, if you are a big man who can easily do science and engineering mathematics 130+, the review method I mentioned may not be applicable. )

About the preparation plan. From February the year before last (12) to June last year, I finished three basic courses of mathematics (advanced mathematics, linear algebra and probability theory) with Mr. Tang Jiafeng's basic courses, and spent about 3 to 4 hours on mathematics every day. However, because I didn't do many problems just by reading books (Tang 1800 has completed about 50% of the basic level exercises), I feel it will be a bit difficult to do problems when I study the intensive course in June. Therefore, we must not be lazy when watching classes, we must brush the questions to consolidate our knowledge, and even spend more time brushing the questions every day than watching classes.

After June, it entered the intensive stage. Mainly following the courses of Tang Jiafeng (advanced mathematics+line generation) and Yu Bingsen (probability theory), taking Tang 1800+ Li Yongle 660 as the brush material. During this period, we should practice the basic formulas and problems of mathematics skillfully, and recite formulas and quadratic conclusions, so we will enter the sprint in June.

After 10, we mainly brush the real questions+simulation questions, one is to check the leaks and fill the gaps, and the other is to keep the feel. The real questions are always the best influencing review materials, and don't just treat them as ordinary exercise books. It's better to finish it in a limited time like an exam, without looking at the answers, and then look at where you are wrong and where you need to improve. It's normal to be beaten when you start doing real questions. Mainly not for the scores on the test paper, but to find out your own shortcomings, don't be discouraged by how many points you got. If you really don't have a clue when you start doing the problem, you can also consolidate the problems that have been practiced at the basic level and the intensive level.

I recommend at least 2 brushes for the real questions (those who have enough time can do the real questions from 2000 to 2022, and those who are in a hurry only need to do the real questions from 2009 to 2022). If they have time in the later period, they can match the betting papers issued by tutors in the market, such as lin li, Zhangyu and Li Yongle. I made 6 sets of bet questions +4 sets of bet questions for Teacher Li Lin, which is a little more difficult than the real questions. Doing so will hurt my confidence a little, but it can really improve my ability to do problems.

On the choice of teachers. Different from politics (Xiao Lao, Xu Tao and Sister Leg), each tutor has his own strengths and characteristics, and different students also adapt to different teachers' teaching styles. So I suggest that when choosing a tutor, watch more videos of several teachers to see if they can adapt to his teaching rhythm. According to my past experience, I mainly talk about a few teachers I have talked about.

First of all, Teacher Tang Jiafeng, Tang Shen's lecture redefines the foundation and is very friendly to students with zero foundation. The supporting explanation exercises in class are also some classic examples, which feel like the feeling of a junior high school teacher teaching by hand. Of course, for students who want to advance, Tang Shen's class is a little basic and not suitable.

Secondly, Mr. Yu Bingsen, Senji, I have only heard of probability theory, which is really clear. You know most of the previous contents except the latter part of the theorem of large numbers. If you choose another teacher as the main teacher, you can also listen to Sengo's probability theory as an assistant.

Besides, I didn't understand Li Yongle's linear algebra, Yang Chao's three major calculations and so on. However, many friends who have studied online say that the effect is good, and everyone can try it.

About counseling materials. I used Tang 1800+ Li Yongle 660+ lin li 6/4+ real questions, and didn't do too many questions. Generally, online bosses will do Li Lin's 880 and Zhang Yu's problem sets again. My best personal experience is Li Yongle 660, both of which are optional, which is very suitable for leak detection and filling. Both basic level and intensive level can be used as problem sets.

The above is a rough experience sharing. If you have some review questions, you can ask me. Postgraduate entrance examination is a good opportunity for self-growth. I hope everyone's efforts will pay off.
