After nearly a hundred years of development, there are teaching units such as the Department of Bridge Engineering, the Department of Tunnel and Underground Engineering, the Department of Architectural Engineering, the Department of Geotechnical Engineering, the Department of Road and Railway Engineering, the Department of Municipal and Environmental Engineering, the Department of Mechanics, the Civil Engineering Experimental Center, and other research institutions such as the Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Education of Tunnel and Underground Engineering and the Urban Rail Transit Research Center, as well as the Architectural Survey and Design Institute of Beijing Jiaotong University. It has three first-level disciplines of civil engineering, mechanics and transportation engineering and corresponding postdoctoral mobile stations, two disciplines 15 doctoral programs, 20 master programs, 5 professional master programs and 4 undergraduate majors or professional directions. The research field covers civil engineering, traffic engineering, environmental science and engineering, mechanics and other first-class disciplines. Bridge and tunnel engineering, road and railway engineering are the national key disciplines, civil engineering is the first-class key discipline in Beijing, solid mechanics is the key discipline in Beijing, and civil engineering experimental center is the national experimental teaching demonstration center. Relying on the college, it has five provincial and ministerial platforms, including the Key Laboratory of Urban Underground Engineering, the Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Education of Tunnel and Underground Engineering, the Beijing Key Laboratory of Rail Engineering, the Beijing Key Laboratory of Structural Wind Engineering and Urban Wind Environment, and the Beijing Rail Transit Line Safety and Disaster Prevention Engineering Technology Research Center.
