Brief introduction of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications
Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT), abbreviated as BUPT 1, is a university directly under the Ministry of Education in Beijing, China. It is a national key university and the "985 Advantage Discipline Innovation Platform" built by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China.
Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications originated from Beijing Institute of Posts and Telecommunications founded by 1955. It is the first post and telecommunications institution after the founding of New China, and it belongs to the former Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications. 65438-0959, Beijing Institute of Telecommunications and its affiliated Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and University of Posts and Telecommunications merged into Beijing Institute of Posts and Telecommunications. 1993, "Beijing Institute of Posts and Telecommunications" was renamed "Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications", and then General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Jiang Zemin of president personally wrote the name of the school.
Academic resources
The library of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications was established in 1955. By 2023, the construction area of the library will reach 52,200 square meters, including 6,543,800 square meters in Xitucheng Campus Library and 36,700 square meters in Shahe Campus Library.
The library has a total collection of nearly 6.025 million books (pieces), including 2.237 million paper books and 3.788 million electronic books.
In addition, the library has more than 200 Chinese and foreign electronic literature databases, and has also achieved interlibrary loan and original text transmission with 80 library and information agencies, forming a literature information resource and service system that mainly focuses on information and communication documents, stores multidisciplinary documents such as engineering, management, literature and science, combines paper documents with electronic documents, combines physical collections with virtual collections, and combines single-library guarantee with multi-library lending.
