The college now has the State Key Laboratory of Vehicle Dynamics Simulation; Department of Automotive Engineering, Department of Internal Combustion Engine Engineering, Department of Industrial Modeling (Department of Body Engineering) and Department of Thermal Energy Engineering; Hydraulic transmission research institute and automobile aerodynamics research institute; Automobile Model Development Center, SAIC- Jilin University Automobile Simulation Design Engineering Research Center, SAIC- Jilin University Automobile Transmission Engineering Research Center, CATIA Technology Center and Siemens Electronic Control Technology Test Center; FAW Dachai-Jilin University Vehicle Diesel Engine Technology Research and Development Base. The above-mentioned institutions have formed three discipline groups: vehicle engineering, thermal energy and power machinery and industrial modeling, covering/kloc-0 national and ministerial key disciplines, 2 postdoctoral mobile stations and 3 doctoral degree awarding points. The internal combustion engine building with domestic first-class conditions has been fully opened. The total value of the college's experimental facilities is nearly 200 million yuan. The Thermal Energy Engineering Laboratory was established in 1985 (formerly known as Thermal Energy Engineering Laboratory, established in 1955), and now it belongs to Automotive Engineering College. The existing room area of the laboratory is 630 square meters, the fixed assets of instruments and equipment are more than 3 million yuan, and there are 5 experimental technicians.
