The Third Affiliated Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine is a third-class and first-class hospital of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine, and a key hospital of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine in state administration of traditional chinese medicine. The metallurgical hospital, formerly built in 1964, was transferred to Beijing University of Chinese Medicine in July 2006, becoming the third affiliated hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and the third clinical medical college of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. Focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of difficult and critical diseases such as encephalopathy, orthopedics and general practice of traditional Chinese medicine, it integrates medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention, health care and rehabilitation, with obvious characteristics, abundant talents and complete equipment.
The hospital has 634 employees, including 94 with senior titles, 57 with doctor's degrees and 88 with master's degrees. There are 520 beds in the hospital, including 24 clinical departments, medical department 10 and 3 community health service stations. It is a standardized training base for Chinese medicine residents and general practitioners in Beijing, and a "model Chinese pharmacy" in Beijing. The hospital has a high level of diagnosis and treatment in the fields of encephalopathy, bone injury, tumor, nephropathy, digestive, cardiovascular, respiratory and endocrine diseases, andrology, dermatology and gynecology, and the curative effects of many dominant diseases have reached the advanced level in China. It has received patients and scholars from more than 20 countries and regions for study and exchange.
The hospital has two national key clinical specialties of traditional Chinese medicine: Encephalopathy Department of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine and Orthopedics Department of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine; Six key specialties in state administration of traditional chinese medicine: encephalopathy, orthopedics, tumor, cardiovascular disease, spleen and stomach disease and nursing; Four key disciplines in state administration of traditional chinese medicine: general practice of traditional Chinese medicine, orthopedics and traumatology of traditional Chinese medicine, psychiatry of traditional Chinese medicine and breast of traditional Chinese medicine; Two key specialties of Beijing Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine: gynecology and rehabilitation of traditional Chinese medicine. Among them, the diagnosis and treatment of stroke, headache, dementia, depression, anxiety and other diseases in the Department of Encephalopathy of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine has reached the leading level in China. Orthopedics with integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine enjoys a high reputation at home and abroad in treating various injuries and fractures, cervical spondylosis, osteoporosis, lumbar osteoarthrosis, lumbar disc herniation, knee and hip osteoarthritis, minimally invasive surgery, hallux valgus and other diseases.
