Xiamen University, referred to as Xiamen University for short, is located in Xiamen City, Fujian Province. It is a comprehensive research-oriented national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC), and a key university jointly established by the Ministry of Education, the State Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, Fujian Province and Xiamen City. It ranks among the national "double first-class", "2 1 1 project" and "985 project".
Fuzhou University, referred to as Dafu for short, is located in Fuzhou, Fujian Province, and was founded in 1958. It is a national "double-class" construction university, a national "2 1 1 project" construction university, a university jointly established by the Ministry of Education, the National Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and the People's Government of Fujian Province, and one of the three key high-level universities in Fujian Province. It has been selected into the National Public Postgraduate Program for Building High-level Universities, the first batch of outstanding engineers' education and training programs of the Ministry of Education, new engineering research and practice projects, the "Hundred Schools Project" of Data China, the national "11plan" and the "Promotion Plan of Internationalized Demonstration Colleges of Universities".
