Xu Jinshan, a 53-year-old former associate professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, was accused of putting a fitness ball filled with carbon monoxide in his wife's car, resulting in the deaths of his 47-year-old wife Huang Xiufen and his 16-year-old second daughter Xu Liling.
▲ According to the South China Morning Post, Xu Jinshan, an associate professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, was accused of murdering his wife and daughter.
In the trial on the 28th, Xu Jinshan said that he and his wife put too much pressure on their second daughter Xu Liling, probably because she wanted to commit suicide.
He suspected that his daughter had committed suicide.
"Only she knows that there is carbon monoxide in the ball."
Zhang, a police officer who arrested Xu Jinshan, testified in court that Xu Jinshan was arrested outside the office of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. When arresting Xu Jinshan, the other party said, "I want to kill the mice at home with a yoga ball. There are too many mice at home. "
"I don't know why the yoga ball was in the car on May 22, 20 15, the day they died. Maybe Lily (the English name of the second daughter Xu Liling) wants to commit suicide. " Xu Jinshan admitted that carbon monoxide was injected into the fitness ball. But after the death of his wife and daughter, he didn't mention it until he was arrested a year later.
Police officer Zhang also said that Xu Jinshan had told him that Lily was the only person in the family who knew that there was carbon monoxide gas in the fitness ball, and excessive inhalation would be fatal. He also warned Lily of the danger.
