202 1 Guangdong Pharmaceutical University Registration Time 2 Guangdong Pharmaceutical University is located in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong Province in South China, referred to as "Guangyao". It is one of the three major pharmaceutical universities in China and the earliest institution of higher learning in South China to offer pharmaceutical series. The school has now developed into a unique institution of higher learning with "medical-oriented, medical-medical integration, medical-industrial integration and multidisciplinary coordinated development".
The school now has five campuses, namely, University Town Campus: No.280, Outer Ring East Road, Panyu District, Guangzhou (headquarters), Chigang Campus: No.68, Nanhua Street, Chigang Road, Haizhu District, Guangzhou, Baogang Campus: No.40, Guanghan Street, Baogang District, and Zhongshan Campus: No.9-13, Mingshui Street, Changwu Guishan, Zhongshan City (Zhongshan City is a municipality directly under the administration of county level).
1958, Guangdong Health Cadre College was established. In the same year, due to the "Big Steelmaking" movement and the "People's Commune Sanitation" movement, classes were suspended and resumed the following year. After the outbreak of the Cultural Revolution, the school was forced to close again. Until 1970, the school merged with Guangzhou Medical College of Guangdong Province and Guangzhou Health School of Guangdong Province to form Guangdong Health School. 1973, the school ran independently again and resumed as Guangdong Health Cadre College.
1978, approved by the State Council, the school was upgraded and renamed as Guangdong Medical College. 1994, the school was renamed Guangdong Pharmaceutical University, becoming the third independent pharmaceutical college in China (the other two are 2 1 1 China Pharmaceutical University and Shenyang Pharmaceutical University). In 2002, the school settled in the University Town Campus, and the Zhongshan Campus started construction. In 2003, the school became a master's degree awarding unit. In 2004, Guangzhou Railway Central Hospital of Guangzhou Railway Bureau was placed under the direct hospital and renamed as the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangdong Pharmaceutical University.
In 20 16, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school was upgraded and renamed Guangdong Pharmaceutical University. On 20 17, Yunfu hospital of traditional Chinese medicine was placed under the affiliated hospital directly under the school, and the second affiliated hospital of Guangdong Pharmaceutical University was added. In the same year, Yunfu Campus started construction.
The school has 19 colleges (departments) and 2 directly affiliated tertiary hospitals. There are 49 undergraduate majors, which is one of the most complete universities in China, with more than 22,000 full-time undergraduates, postgraduates and international students.
