Xi Jiaotong University, founded in 1896, is located in Xi, Shaanxi Province, formerly known as Nanyang College. It is a comprehensive research-oriented national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of China. It is jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the State Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, and belongs to the first batch of 7 key universities in the "21/Project" and "985 Project".
The school was selected as one of the first batch of key construction universities in the Seventh Five-Year Plan and the Eighth Five-Year Plan, and one of the first batch of 1 1 prestigious universities in China, China University Presidents Association, China-Russia Jiaotong University Alliance. Selected into the first batch of outstanding engineer education and training plan, the demonstration base of studying in China by the Ministry of Education,11plan, and the national public graduate program for building high-level universities. It is a 20 1 1 plan, a leading university of high-end manufacturing equipment collaborative innovation center, and a university initiated by the New Silk Road University Alliance.
Xi Jiaotong University is one of the earliest institutions of higher learning in China. 192 1 renamed jiaotong university. 1956, the State Council decided to move jiaotong university to Xi' an, which became the Xi' an part of jiaotong university. 1959 was named Xi jiaotong university.
