Beijing Foreign Studies University is a high-level characteristic university founded by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Beijing Municipal People's Government. It is a well-known university with foreign languages and tourism as its dominant disciplines and the coordinated development of literature, management, economy and philosophy. It is also an important base for foreign language, translation, tourism, economy and trade training and research in China.

The school is located in Chaoyang District, Beijing, adjacent to the Central Business District (CBD) in the west and the Beijing City Sub-center (Tongzhou) in the east. At present, there are nearly 10,000 students of all kinds, including 6,300 undergraduates, 800 international students and 400 graduate students.

At present, there are 17 teaching units such as English College, Japanese College, Asian College, European College, Middle East College, Advanced Translation College, Tourism Science College, Business School, Economics College, Political Party Diplomatic College, Culture and Communication College, Chinese Language College, Marxism College, Sports Department, Basic Science Department and Infiltration College.
