Nanjing Forestry University, referred to as "Lin Nan", is located in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. It is a provincial key university approved by the State Forestry and Grassland Bureau and the People's Government of Jiangsu Province, and approved by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Jiangsu Province. It is a Class A construction university in the construction peak plan of high-level universities in Jiangsu Province. ;

It is a national "double first-class" university, and has been selected into the first batch of "excellent agricultural and forestry talents education and training plan" and the national "characteristic key discipline project" to build universities. It is a multi-disciplinary university featuring forestry and taking advantages of resources, ecology and environment.

The school was formerly the Forestry Department of Central University (founded in 1902) and the Forestry Department of Jinling University (founded in 19 10), and Nanjing Forestry College was merged in 1952, which was one of the only three forestry colleges in China at that time.

1955 Huazhong agricultural college (formed by the merger of Wuhan university, Nanchang university and Hubei agricultural college) was merged with the forestry department, and 1972 was renamed Nanjing forestry industry institute. 1983 restored the name of Nanjing Forestry College, and 1985 changed its name to Nanjing Forestry University.

As of June, 20021year, the school has three campuses, covering an area of10751.15mu, with teaching and research instruments and equipment totaling 883 million yuan, 2/kloc-0 colleges (departments) and 70 undergraduate majors.

At present, there are 8 post-doctoral mobile stations, 8 first-class disciplines authorized by doctoral degrees, 24 first-class disciplines authorized by master's degrees, 1 national first-class disciplines, 2 first-class disciplines, more than 2,240 faculty members and more than 30,000 full-time students of all kinds.
