Nanjing University of Finance and Economics, located in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, is a Class B university jointly established by the People's Government of Jiangsu Province and the State Grain Bureau. 1999, Nanjing Materials School was merged into Nanjing Institute of Economics. In 2000, Nanjing Institute of Economics, Jiangsu Institute of Finance and Economics and Jiangsu Institute of Economics and Management merged to form a new Nanjing Institute of Economics. In 2003, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school was officially renamed Nanjing University of Finance and Economics.
