1968: Worked as a worker in Xining Military Factory, a teaching assistant and lecturer in English Department of Xi International Studies University, a master student and doctoral student in English Department of university of akron and Kent State University, an associate professor and professor in English Department of Xi International Studies University, a professor and doctoral supervisor in English Department of Beijing Foreign Studies University, and a vice president of Beijing Foreign Studies University. President of British Literature Society in China, director of Foreign Literature Society in China, vice president of Translation Theory and Teaching Research Association of China Translators Association, member of Chinese-foreign Literature Exchange Committee of Chinese Writers Association, deputy director of professional foreign language teaching steering committee in colleges and universities, and head of English group. 1992 began to publish works. 1997 Join the Chinese Writers Association. Published dozens of academic papers at home and abroad.
