Second, the school characteristics
The special facilities of the University of California, Irvine include the Museum of Biological Tissue, Zeiss Electron Transmission Microscope, Scanning Probe Microscope, Scanning Tunneling Microscope, Atomic Furnace, Femtosecond Ultrafast Laser, Fresh Water and Swamp Repository, Farm School, etc. Sports equipment includes badminton court, swimming pool, basketball court, basketball court, tennis court, equipment gym, dance studio, grass football field, indoor football field, squash court and outdoor track and field. There are nearly 600 student clubs in the school, providing a variety of club activities for students to participate in. If you want to speak fluent English and understand American culture, then UCI ESL project (referred to as ESL) is the best choice. This course is especially suitable for students who are going to study in the United States to improve their English. ESL grading examination divides students into different classes, integrates American culture into teaching, and emphasizes the overall improvement of students' listening, speaking, reading and writing abilities. Advanced students can take the following courses: American government, American movies, TOEFL preparation, etc. At the end of the semester, UCI English Department issued a certificate of completion to ESL students as an encouragement. At present, there are foreign students from different countries studying ESL courses in our school. The school provides various consulting services, which students can make more use of. In the English ESL course every quarter, many classes will arrange colorful extracurricular tours or leisure activities, so that this language course is not boring at all. These extracurricular activities all provide transportation, but some tours need to pay extra admission fees. The itinerary includes excursions in Disneyland, Universal Studios, Los Angeles and San Diego, seaside parties and barbecues, and sometimes going to the theater in downtown Los Angeles to watch operas, concerts and other interesting performances.
