Study on listening to music while driving: The researchers selected five female participants aged 18~23, and analyzed the influence of music on their heart pressure. These women are in good health, driving 1~2 times a week and driving experience 1~7 years. The reason why researchers choose women who don't usually drive is that people who drive frequently and have a driver's license for a long time are more adaptable to traffic tensions.
The test lasted two days. On the first day, they drove 3 kilometers in traffic jam without listening to music. The next day, I drove along the same route at the same time, but listened to music.
The researchers evaluated the stress level of the participants' hearts through the change of heart rate. The results show that participants who don't listen to music while driving have lower heart rate variability and greater stress. People who listen to music have increased heart rate variability, decreased sympathetic nervous system activity and reduced stress level, which is beneficial to cardiovascular health.
