Approved by the State Council, Wuhan University of Technology was merged from Wuhan University of Technology, Wuhan Jiaotong University and Wuhan University of Automotive Technology in May 2000, and it is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education. It is also a national key construction university under the "2 1 1" project. It is a multidisciplinary university with eight disciplines, such as engineering, science, literature, management, economy, law, philosophy and education, which is permeated with arts and sciences and has outstanding characteristics.

The School of Management of Wuhan University of Technology was established in 1964. At present, there are 17 master's programs, 6 doctoral programs, 2 postdoctoral mobile stations, and MBA classes for international students (MBA students from more than 50 countries around the world have been received). At present, there are academicians 1 person, chutian scholars 1 person, 24 doctoral supervisors, 49 professors and 80 associate professors. Teachers with senior professional titles and master's and doctor's degrees account for 66% and 73% of the total number of teachers, respectively. Invited academicians Tian and China Academy of Engineering as visiting professors, and Zhang Shourong as honorary president of the School of Management.
