Founding member of the National Postgraduate Program for Building High-level Universities, Scholarship for Overseas Students from China Government, National Model University for Deepening Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Reform, National College Practice Education and Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base, the first batch of pilot universities for national education system reform, China-Europe Business School Alliance, and the International Risk Data Analysis Alliance of the University of California, Berkeley.
The school started with Guanghua University founded by 1925 in Shanghai. 1938 Guanghua University moved to Chengdu in the bonfire of the Anti-Japanese War and established Guanghua University Chengdu Branch. 1952 Private Chenghua University was changed to public, and some departments were transferred to form Sichuan University of Finance and Economics; By 1953, the financial departments of universities in Southwest China 17 have gathered. 196 1 merged and renamed Chengdu University. 1978 resumed as Sichuan University of Finance and Economics.

During the period of 1938, Guanghua University moved from Shanghai to Chengdu, Sichuan during the bonfire in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. President Zhang Shouyong entrusted Xie Lin, Dean of Business School, to organize and preside over the work of the branch school. With the approval of the Ministry of Education of the National Government, Guanghua University Chengdu Branch was established. When Guanghua University was evacuated from Sichuan, it managed to set up the Chinese Department of the Faculty of Arts in 1945, the Business Department and the Political and Economic Department under the Law School, and the Accounting Department, Business Administration Department and Banking Department under the Business School.
