1897 was founded in Jingfu Academy, then merged with Qiushi Academy to form Anhui University Hall, and later changed to Anhui Ordnance Academy, Anhui Army Academy and Anhui Law and Politics College.

1928, the provincial Anhui university was established here; 1946 changed to National Anhui University;

From 1958 to Anhui Normal University, Anqing Teaching Center of Anhui Normal University and Anqing Branch of Anhui Normal University;

1980 Anqing normal college was established on the basis of Anqing branch of Anhui normal university;

20 16 was renamed Anqing Teachers College with the approval of the Ministry of Education.

The school is an excellent institution for evaluating the undergraduate teaching level of institutions of higher learning of the Ministry of Education, and the first batch of units in China with the right to award bachelor's degrees. The school has the right to award master's degrees and was selected as the second phase of the "Basic Capacity Building Project of Colleges and Universities in the Midwest".
