Who is Zhi Yanzhai?
Zhi Yanzhai is the main critic of the manuscript system of A Dream of Red Mansions, and reevaluates Zhi Yanzhai's The Story of the Stone.

Zhi Yanzhai's comment on writing is called "fat criticism" or "fat criticism" in the red circle, and the manuscript with Zhi Yanzhai's comment on writing is called "fat edition", which is the version of A Dream of Red Mansions that most conforms to Cao Xueqin's thought. However, there is no consensus on who Zhi Yanzhai is and what is the relationship with Cao Xueqin, the author of A Dream of Red Mansions.

The existing version of A Dream of Red Mansions can be divided into two systems, one is the 80-page evaluation system of Zhi Yanzhai, and the other is the 120-page evaluation system of Cheng Gaoben, which has been patched up by Cheng Weiyuan and Gao E.

Novels in the Ming and Qing Dynasties reached their peak, and book review was not only regarded as the storyteller's understanding of the novel's content and appreciation of the text, but gradually evolved into a supplement and re-creation of the overall structure of the novel. This began with a generation of strange man Jin Shengtan commenting on Water Margin and The West Chamber and incorporating them into his own creation. Later, Mao Zonggang and his son revised the Romance of the Three Kingdoms in the name of Jin Shengtan's foreign book, and Zhang Zhupo deleted it. Zhi Yanzhai's comments on A Dream of Red Mansions also have the characteristics of novel re-creation, and there was also a saying that Jin Shengtan was not resurrected in the fat comments.
