Fujian College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, founded in 1958, is an earlier institution of higher learning of traditional Chinese medicine in China and a key construction institution in Fujian Province.

The school-running system is perfect. The school has 9 departments, 4 secondary colleges and 2 research institutes, 2 doctoral degree authorization points and 18 master degree authorization points in orthopedics and traumatology of traditional Chinese medicine and clinical practice of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine. It has 25 undergraduate majors and directions, including Chinese Medicine, Seven-year Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture and Tuina, Clinical Medicine of Chinese and Western Medicine, Clinical Medicine, Medical Imaging, Pharmacy, Chinese Medicine, Pharmaceutical Preparation, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Marketing, Nursing, Business Administration, Applied Psychology, Food Science and Engineering. There are more than 8000 full-time students and more than 900 graduate students.

The teaching staff is strong. The school has more than 2,400 faculty members, including more than 400 professional and technical personnel with senior titles. It has a group of mentors of famous Chinese traditional medicine academic inheritors, young and middle-aged experts who have made outstanding contributions to the country, outstanding experts in Fujian Province and special allowance experts of the State Council. In 2002 and 2007, the school achieved "excellent" results in the first round and the second round of undergraduate teaching level evaluation organized by the Ministry of Education.
