The Confucius Institute at Nairobi University is the first Confucius Institute in Africa, approved by Hanban, and jointly sponsored by Tianjin Normal University in China and Nairobi University. The college officially opened on February 9, 2005. Her birth is known as "a milestone in the history of China-Kenya educational exchange". The establishment of the first Confucius Institute in Africa marks a new chapter in China-Kenya educational cooperation.
