The predecessor of Wenshan College was/kloc-0, which was moved from Zhaotong, Yunnan Province to Wenshan National Southwest Normal School in February, 1947./kloc-0 was established on the basis of National Southwest Normal School with the approval of Yunnan Provincial People's Government in June, 1955. /kloc-in the autumn of 0/958, Wenshan Renmin University was established in Wenshan Normal University, enrolling one class in teachers' college and one class in medical college, and then closed for some reason.
1977, approved by Yunnan Provincial Department of Education, attached to Wenshan Normal University; 1984 Wenshan teachers college was established with the approval of Yunnan provincial people's government; Mr. Chu Tunan, former vice chairman of the National People's Congress, wrote the name of the school; 1992, renamed Wenshan Teachers College; In 2009, it was upgraded to a full-time undergraduate college with the approval of the Ministry of Education.
The school is located in wenshan city City, with unique scenery, lush trees, clean canteen, neat apartment and complete sports facilities. There are 568 teaching and administrative staff in the school, including 502 full-time teachers, 57 teachers with associate senior titles or above/kloc-0, and teachers with master's degree or above account for 56.97% of full-time teachers.
The school has ten secondary colleges, namely, Humanities College, Chemistry and Engineering College, Environment and Resources College, Mathematics College, Information Science College, Foreign Languages College, Politics, Law and Economics College, Physical Education College, Art College and Education Science College. It enrolls students from more than 20 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government, with 8,889 full-time students. The total value of teaching instruments and equipment in the school is 52.66 million yuan, 950,000 books and materials, and there are 1077 kinds of newspapers and magazines.
At present, the school is thoroughly implementing the spirit of the national and provincial medium-and long-term education reform and development plan, with the construction of qualified undergraduate colleges as the main line, the construction of disciplines and specialties as the leader, the training of talents as the center, and the service of regional economic and social development as the guide, further adjusting the structure, creating characteristics, attracting resources, grasping construction and promoting development.
