Harbin Engineering University is located in the beautiful Songhua River-the northern ice city Harbin. This school is one of the first 27 institutions that passed the project approval (non-pre-examination) of 1996. It is a national key university with a graduate school and a national university science park. It is also an important talent training and scientific research base in the fields of "three seas and one nuclear" (shipbuilding industry, naval equipment, marine development and nuclear energy application) in China. Harbin Engineering University has a glorious historical tradition. The school's predecessor was China People's Liberation Army Military Engineering College (hereinafter referred to as "Harbin Institute of Technology") founded by 1953, with General Chen Geng as the first president. At present, there are 54 undergraduate majors (3 of which are not enrolled), 93 master's degree authorization points, 25 doctoral degree authorization points, and 13 postdoctoral research stations and workstations. It has become one of the main forces in the basic and applied research of ship science and technology in China, a key unit in the development of advanced naval technology and equipment, and a national marine high-tech exhibition. The school maintains a strong technical reserve in the field of ship-to-sea nuclear, and the technologies such as underwater robot, ship anti-rolling, integrated navigation, underwater acoustic positioning and nuclear power simulation are in the leading position at home or abroad.
