Band Compilation and Organization of Tsinghua University Military Band
Today, Tsinghua University Military Band has nearly 150 members, who come from various professional departments and grades of the school. Roughly according to the grade, it is divided into three echelons: student team, second team and first team. Most of the players are ordinary students who have passed the recruitment and interview every semester and have no previous experience in wind music performance. The rest are art special students selected from the candidates with strong wind music performance in the form of art winter camp in accordance with the provisions of the State Education Commission. Non-special students learn the basic performance of the band and the overall training of the second team, and finally enter the first team representing the highest level of the band. Founded in 2000, the Graduate Team is the only wind band in Chinese mainland, which is basically composed of graduate students. Zhu Hancheng, Zhang Haifeng and Wang Jinfeng are the permanent conductors of the band. Teacher Mulidi, a famous clarinet player, is in charge of teaching clarinet and saxophone in the band.

Today's Tsinghua University Military Band is a standard symphony orchestra, mainly composed of wind instruments and percussion instruments. Woodwind instruments include flute, piccolo, clarinet, oboe, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone and bassoon. The voice of a brass instrument consists of trumpet, cornet, horn, trombone, bassoon, tenor and tuba. The common types of percussion instruments are snare drum, Drum, Timpani, Clam, Clam, Jazz Drum, Malimba and so on. In addition, there are other kinds of musical instruments, such as double bass and harp.

Tsinghua University Military Band is led by Tsinghua University Youth League Committee and Tsinghua University Art Education Center. Daily management is carried out by team members' representatives, that is, team cadres. These student cadres live in the same dormitory, not in different departments and grades like other students, so they are called centralized classes.

At present, the daily rehearsal and activity place of the band is Meng Minwei Building in Tsinghua University. Junyun is the team magazine of the band.
