The school was founded in 1958, then called Tianmulin College. 1960 merged with Zhejiang Agricultural College to form Zhejiang Agricultural University. 1966 was renamed as Zhejiang Forestry College,1970 merged with Zhejiang Agricultural University in July, 1979, and resumed running independently in February.

School culture:

1. The school emblem was designed spontaneously by the teachers of this school on 1987, and was widely used by relevant departments, teachers and students of the school. In 2003, the school revised the model and adopted it as a formal school standard. 20 10 due to the renaming of the school, the pattern was slightly modified again.

2. The school emblem has a green background and consists of Zhejiang A&F University, Ginkgo biloba leaves and Chinese and English characters of the school year.
